History Of Exetel's Agent Programs

Since June 2004 Exetel has appointed agents who receive a sign up and then an ongoing commission to sell and, where necessary, support the installation of all of its products and services throughout Australia.

Exetel pays a percentage of 3.00% up to 9.00% (ex GST) of the value of monthly access revenue derived from customers signed up by The Agent. Agents have access to facilities where they can see what customers are 'live', pending and cancelled. Commissions are paid within a few days of the end of each month directly in to the agent's bank account.

  8. We will provide marketing and sales material at no or very low cost to assist you in any mutually agreed marketing program.
  9. We will pay 50% of any advertising mutually agreed that promotes Exetel services

Requirements To Become A Residential Agent

The main requirements to become an Exetel Residential agent are:

An established business that will sell Exetel's Residential products/services as an 'add on' to its current activities

A thorough knowledge of the technical/operational aspects of the products/services

Exetel will consider companies/people that don't meet those two criteria if there are compelling reasons to do so.

Agent - Telephony Programs

Services Available - Exetel Business Telephone Agent


Exetel can offer an extremely competitive range of telephone call plans to companies who install and service a business customer's telephone systems and services.

An agent can elect to sell Exetel's 'retail' telephone plans on the basis that Exetel bills the client and takes responsibility for collecting the debt and paying the agent a commission of 15% of the net invoice value.

Alternatively, and as well, Exetel can provide 'tailored' plans at higher call charges than the retail plans that return commissions of 20% or 25% of the net invoice value. These plans can include 'rebates' to the end user of an agreed amount of money to cover the costs of the lease of a new telephone key station or PABX (the rebate is deducted from the agent's commission).

If the agent has their own billing system, Exetel can bill the agent direct and the agent can then on bill the end customer at whatever charges they wish to put in place.

Requirements To Become An Exetel Telephone Agent

The main requirements to become an Exetel Telephone Agent are:

  • A business that has been established for more than 2 years selling and installing key station and PABX's.
  • An established client base to which the agent has already provided full business solution products.
  • An established client base to which the agent provides ongoing 'maintenance' services.

Agents' Calling Card Program

Services Available - Exetel Calling Card Agent


An agent can elect to sell Exetel's calling card service on the basis that Exetel bills the client and takes responsibility for collecting the debt and paying the agent a commission of 30% of the net invoice value of the cards.

Each Exetel calling card has an initial value of $10. This is prepaid by the end customer. They can be recharged by the end customer at any (multiple of $5) varying amounts.

Requirements To Become An Exetel CALLING CARD Agent

The main requirements to become an Exetel Calling Card Agent are one or both of these:

  • A business that has been established for more than 2 years selling calling card services.
  • An existing Exetel agent, providing other Exetel services, with a shop front.

Exetel Franchise

Customer Services Available - Franchise


Exetel will provide all of its current and future communications services to the franchisee at an agreed discount to the prices that Exetel itself offers the same services.

Products and Services included in the current suite of offerings are:

  • ADSL1 broadband
  • ADSL2 broadband
  • SHDSL and Ethernet Business services
  • VoIP, Wire Line and Mobile services
  • Netcomm hardware

Requirements To Obtain An Exetel Franchise

The main requirements to obtain an Exetel franchise are:

  • It's an exclusive arrangement under which the franchisee does not offer any other provider's services that compete with the services offered by Exetel.
  • The franchisee can offer any products or services that do not compete with Exetel's products and services
  • The franchisee has been in business for a minimum of three years
  • The franchisee has a minimum of 50 Exetel services in their capacity as an Exetel agent or has 100 ADSL services supplied via other providers
  • The franchise contract is for a minimum of three years renewable for a further three years

The franchisee trades under the Exetel name: Exetel (Location) Pty Ltd with a reference to the name of the previous business (formerly: XYZ Computers Pty Ltd) below the main Exetel name in smaller typeface.

Support From Exetel

Exetel will provide the following support:

  • All code for the web site, back end processes and associated application, ordering and tracking requirements
  • User Facility back end similar to that Exetel currently provides to its own end users
  • Billing services if required
  • The same level of provisioning, delivery and service issue finding and resolution tools that Exetel currently has or will subsequently develop
  • Telephone support for the end user, if required, at a fee for service
  • Access to Exetel's management control systems and all training and operational material as exists currently and as is subsequently developed
