Why Use Exetel's VoIP?

Exetel is an Experienced VoIP Provider

Exetel has been using and providing VoIP solutions for over five years, and is a highly sophisticated user of advanced VoIP solutions itself with over 120 VoIP handsets in use. These users are in two different countries (80 in Sri Lanka and 40 in Australia) the Australian users are mainly in our North Sydney office, and the additional "work from home" personnel in other parts of Sydney, WA and the NSW Central Coast.

Improved Functionality and Flexibility

VoIP can offer your business a "Unified Communication" service where your voice and data; phone calls; faxes; SMS; email; web conferencing and more can be run over a single network. VoIP provides all of the same features as a traditional PSTN (free of charge), with the added ability of facilitating tasks that would be more difficult, or impossible to implement using PSTN or ISDN telephone lines. Features only available to a VoIP service include:

More Detailed CDR's

Exetel's Billing system allows each call to be recorded in detail (caller and the recipient; the duration of the call and the total amount billed for the call), compared to a PSTN system where the details of calls are limited.

Detailed Invoices

Exetel provides VoIP as an add-on service to its DSL offerings; using the data connection to make calls makes it a natural extension to this data product, and creates a seamless billing process. A user's VoIP spend is added to their monthly data invoice.

Voicemail sent to Users Email

Exetel's Billing System allows for Voicemails to be recorded and then sent to the recipients email via a media player file. This service is very useful for keeping valuable messages, as well as listening to them when out of the office.

Easy Expansibility and Upgradability

Upgrading traditional PSTN often consists of purchasing new hardware and provisioning new lines, which can be very time consuming and expensive. VoIP on the other hand often only requires more Internet bandwidth and software upgrades.

9 cent Calls to Anywhere in Australia

The major benefit of VoIP over "traditional" telephone calls are the cheap call rates on offer that include 9 cents (untimed) to any Australian land line number, 20 cents/minute to mobile phone numbers, and 30 cents (untimed) to 13 and 1300 numbers. CLOUD PABX

No new backend hardware required

With a Cloud PABX system there is no need to maintain or purchase complex and expensive phone switching hardware. Exetel will host your cloud solution; therefore there is no need for a VoIP Router. Your setup costs are also reduced by fact no new handsets are required as long your current handsets are SIP compatible.

Migrating from “Traditional” Voice to VoIP

As the installation of a new PABX or new handset is not required the migration from traditional voice to VoIP can take as little as 20 days, this of course is dependent on your companies specific requirements as well as the number of handsets you require.

The process for migration is quite simple:

  1. Check the availability of porting your company’s current phone numbers and place an order.
  2. Exetel will perform setup to host your company’s virtual solution – this takes on average 7 days.
  3. As the last step your company’s handsets will be reconfigured.

You can review the customer interface of the CloudPABX here: https://demo.upabx.exetel.com.au

The CloudPABX system allows traditional PABX functionality including reception management either by handset or web panel. It also allows multiple organizations to use a single PABX and receptionist through multiple calling groups and inbound/outbound numbers.

Call data is available from both the PABX – per extension and via our members facility in total call volume.

In case of network failure, all calls can be routed to mobiles or any other landline phone number selected.

SIP TRUNKING

For those who already have their own IP enabled PABX, Exetel will give you a username and password to connect to the VoIP infrastructure. You can then combine this with a ported or new InDial range and start making and receiving calls. If you are already using another provider for inbound calls, you can configure your system to use Exetel for outbound calls and take advantage of our lowest possible rates. This means you only pay for your InDial range and your call costs.

InDial number ranges

Exetel offer competitively priced InDial number ranges and can port over existing PSTN and number ranges from Tier 1 carriers. Exetel’s current pricing for ranges:

Do you have a VoIP ready PABX?

If your business has a new PABX system that supports VoIP (most do by adding an additional VoIP module) you are able to migrate immediately. To begin using Exetel VoIP a user is able to log into their Exetel User facilities and apply for an account, where a username and password will be issued immediately. On receipt of their username and password, the user is then able to enter these details into their PABX system and configure their VoIP module to communicate with the Exetel VoIP server. Savings begin instantly when all calls are switched to VoIP.

Converting an old PABX into a VoIP PABX

If your business is running on an older PABX system with spare PSTN ports a VoIP gateway can be added. This is done by configuring a Cisco Linksys SPA8800/SPA8000, which will provide a VoIP port via the traditional PSTN port. Phone calls that are then sent via these ports to your PABX will be VoIP calls via Data network, with the ability to then program the VoIP ports to be first priority when sending calls – enabling your business to save more money. Additionally to this, there is the ability to convert an old PABX into pure VoIP PABX by connecting all ports to the VoIP gateway.
