These plans are for machines communicating with each other. They are not for use in mobile handsets, tablets, USB modems and other mobile devices.

These no contract plans are ideally used in tablets or alternatively will need a Mobile Broadband modem for them to operate. A prospective customer may already have such a modem in which case there is no activation fee for the service - Exetel will courier you the SIM you need to place in the modem to access the Exetel service.
Data (both up and down) is charged per kilobyte and the monthly bill is rounded to the nearest megabyte. The data pool charge is billed in advance as a block. When the data block is 90% exhausted or the services have reached their expiry date, it is automatically topped up and billed again.
If after 15 days from ordering a service it is not activated and used for downloading it will start to incur a monthly access charge of $5/service.

With each Exetel Post Paid Mobile Broadband plan you also get the following additional facilities:
- No contract term
- 10 email addresses in the form of - yourname@exemail.com.au
- 200 megabytes of user web space
- A permanent IP address (with the ability to change it if you wish to do so at any time)
- Usage meter that is regularly updated
Premium Mobile Broadband Service Benefits
The Exetel Mobile Broadband service is provided using the Optus Mobile data network. While we can’t provide any ‘guarantees’ of service via the Optus towers or the Optus back haul network to our points of presence we can guarantee that your service will suffer no contention issues once it reaches the parts of the network we control.
On the, real time, graphs below you will see that there is no contention on the Exetel network that receives and sends your data from your Mobile device to and from your selected destinations. You might think that every carrier and carrier agent provides this level of connectivity provisioning – and you may be right. However Exetel, and several Exetel customers have conducted over 100 ‘side by side’ tests where an Exetel wireless broadband lap top and another provider’s wireless broadband lap top have been ‘sat’ side by side and a speed test started at the same time. The Exetel powered result was, in over 80% of cases, faster than the ‘other’ service’s result.
