Coverage
Exetel uses the Optus wireless broadband network to provide connection between the end user to its points of interconnect in Sydney and Melbourne. The Optus wireless data network has excellent coverage in State and Territory capital cities, almost all major regional cities and towns and a constantly increasing percentage of regional and rural areas of Australia.
Speed
Speed across any wireless network will always vary due to distance, signal strength of the device used to connect and the number of concurrent users on any particular tower at any particular time of day. The Optus network was originally built out with a theoretical maximum of 3.6 mbps download ability but this speed is being upgraded to 7.2 mbps in an increasing coverage area. In most capital cities and large centres a use could expect a sustained speed in excess of 1 mbps down.
VPN Connectivity – Fixed IP
The Exetel wireless broadband service can be provided to business users who buy ten or more services with a choice of fixed IP addresses – either private (10.0.0.0) or public 220.233.0.0. The private addresses can be supplied as a sequential block or as one or more contiguous C classes. Exetel will provide these different IP Address based on the customer’s specific VPN needs.
Very Flexible Pricing – Fleet Plans
With Exetel’s business wireless broadband services you do not buy ‘individual plans’ for each user. You are provided with a very low rate per megabyte used which applies across all users in your ‘fleet’ – so no usage in any month, the no charge. You are only charged for the number of megabytes used by all services in your fleet in any month – no additional per service charges.

Wireless broadband services have continually fallen in price over the past two years.
