Implementing A Customer’s SHDSL VPN
Exetel will consult with you to determine how best to connect your locations based on the traffic usage, to and from, each location. Exetel will provide a full quotation for the VPN services costed by each location and in total including all installation and support costs.
Exetel is responsible for the design and delivery of the services and the DSL routers and the commissioning of the links between the locations.
The customer is responsible for connection from the Exetel supplied network termination units ( usually Cisco 828s) to the routers at each of their locations.
Telephone Lines Required
The telephone line required for a high speed SHDSL service is a standard PSTN line that does not go through a PABX or a Commander or other Key Station system. These lines are provided by Exetel and are included in the monthly access charge.
Installation Time Frames
It takes around 20 working days from the date the customer acceptance of a VPN proposal is received by us to the date that the services will be installed and activated. The actual installation schedule is agreed between the customer and Exetel as part of the planning process.
The routers required to connect the VPN (Usually Cisco 828s) to the customer’s routers must be supplied by Exetel.
VPN Pricing - Once Only Activation
There is a once only configuration charge for the total VPN solution of $500.00
There are no installation charges for the lines or the Cisco 828 NTUs provided that the customer signs for a 24 month contract for each service.
VPN Pricing Monthly Access Charges
One SHDSL line is required to be connected to each site at the following monthly access charges per site. Four different speed lines are offered by Exetel as standard and, in some locations, Exetel may be able to provide other line speeds:

There are no traffic charges for data transmitted between the sites connected on the VPN.
If access to the internet is required there is an additional monthly charge of $50.00 (per VPN; not per VPN site) which includes 24 gb of downloaded data. If downloads in any month exceed the included allowance a charge of $3.00 per gb is incurred.
There is no charge for uploaded data.
Contract Length/Terms
The minimum contract for a VPN is 24 months.

Billing/Payment Cycles
Installation charges, including any hardware supplied, for VPN services are payable on the commissioning of the VPN.
Monthly VPN access charges are payable before the 15th of each month.
