Applying For Exetel’s ADSL Services On Line
New ADSL Service On Your Telephone Line
To apply for a new Exetel ADSL service you need to complete an on line application. The on line application form can be viewed in its entirety on your computer screen and, before submitting it, we strongly recommend that you review each field to ensure that you have entered all of the requested data correctly.
If you have decided to order an Exetel ADSL service due to the recommendation of an Exetel agent please ensure you know their agent number before you commence completing the application form.
Once you have submitted the on line application a confirmation message will appear on the screen describing the processes that will then be undertaken to connect your telephone line to Exetel’s ADSL service. Please take a few moments to read this information as it should be of assistance to you in fully understanding the installation process and the likely time frames.
Once the confirmation message is displayed you will have the option to print out a copy of both the application form and the application confirmation for your records and, again, we strongly recommend that you do this.
If you have put in a valid, and operating, email address in your application you will also receive a confirmation by email.
After you have submitted the application you can check on its progress at any time by selecting the “Application Status” button on the main menu of this web site and entering in your telephone number. It will take a variable length of time for your ADSL service to become active but this facility will provide you with all information on the progress.

Transferring To Exetel From A Participating ADSL ISP
If you are with another ADSL ISP you are able to transfer to Exetel on a day nominated by you (within a 4 - 11 business day 'window'). The transfer from your current ISP to Exetel takes place on the day you nominate and you will, usually, have access to both ADSL services on that day after Telstra has made the change. It is seldom that you will have any appreciable time without an ADSL connection but it can happen.
HOWEVER YOU MUST NOT SUBMIT A CANCELLATION TO YOUR CURRENT ADSL PROVIDER BEFORE YOUR LINE IS TRANSFERRED TO EXETEL.
If you are unsure whether your current ISP participates in the rapid transfer process you will need to check by going to:
http://www.telstrawholesale.com/products/docs/access_broadband_dsltransfer.xls
Please read this list carefully as Telstra uses the business names with whom they have signed the contracts rather than the name of the ISP which you are using. Examples of this are:
Agile is the name for Internode, The Internet Group is iHug and Telstra is BigPond
By completing and submitting the transfer application you are authorizing Exetel to physically move your current ADSL service from your current provider to Exetel.
YOU MUST NOT SUBMIT A CANCELLATION TO YOUR CURRENT ADSL PROVIDER BEFORE YOUR LINE IS TRANSFERRED TO EXETEL
However you are NOT canceling any legal or financial obligation to your current ADSL ISP.
Before deciding to transfer to Exetel you should ensure you understand what financial obligations you have with your current ADSL ISP and decide on the most advantageous date to move from your current service to Exetel.
Once you have submitted the on line application a confirmation message will appear on the screen that will include the user name and password for your Exetel service and the DNS settings that you might like to use.
Once the confirmation message is displayed you will have the option to print out a copy of both the transfer form and the transfer confirmation for your records and we strongly recommend that you do this.
If you have put in a valid, and operating, email address in your application you will also receive a confirmation by email. There will be no further updates provided to you by us as Telstra provides no updates on the transfer process. You may assume that on the day that you have nominated your ADSL service will drop for between a few minutes and a few hours and when it comes back on you will be connected to Exetel.
