In ordering higher speed ADSL or SHDSL services from Exetel Pty Ltd you need to understand that Exetel does not provide the connection services itself but re-sells the services provided by RequestDSL or Optus.
The terms and conditions and the performance guarantee's (if any) of these services are those provided to Exetel Pty Ltd by RequestDSL or Optus and passed through to you.
RequestDSL or Optus provides the connectivity between the user's premises (which they in turn either provide on their own circuits or by using circuits leased to them from another carrier such as Telstra, or NEC).
Exetel provides the connectivity between the closest RequestDSL or Optus CBD PoP and the Exetel CBD PoP and the ingress/egress bandwidth to and from the Internet.
Activation Schedule
From the time you submit your application to the time we advise you that your ordered circuit is activated is averaging 30 working days.
While we do not insist that you buy the SHDSL modem from us (for the 1mbps/1mbps and 2mbps/2mbps services) it is not a particularly easy modem to configure for anyone but an experienced engineer. Unless you are very confident in your abilities we strongly advise that you buy the SHDSL modem from Exetel Pty Ltd and let us configure it for you; this cost is included in our advertised price for the modem or router.
