  1. What’s Involved In Exetel’s Fauna Protection Initiatives
    1. Why Shouldn’t I Just Donate Personally ?
      1. You can do that, of course, if that’s what you want to do.
      2. One advantage of donating via Exetel deducting a small amount of money each month via your monthly broadband debit is that many charities won’t accept donations of less than $20.00 or $30.00.
    2. What Amount Of Money Do I Have To Donate
      1. There is no fixed amount.
      2. You can donate from 50 cents to $5.00 by nominating an amount in the User Facilities.
    3. When Will Money Be Deducted?
      1. Money will be deducted on the 1st working day of each month.
      2. You can cancel or change your donation amount any time up to midnight on the last day of each month.
    4. When Will My First Donation be Made?
      1. On the first working day of the month after you activate your donation in the user Facilities.
    5. How Long Do I have To Donate For?
      1. There is no commitment beyond the first donation.
      2. You can cancel at any time.
    6. What Happens If I Cancel My Exetel Broadband Service?
      1. Canceling your broadband service automatically cancels your donation authority
    7. How Do I Know Whether My Donation Is Doing Any Good?
      1. Exetel will publish reports each quarter summarizing the donations made and giving updates on the progress of the project
    8. Why Doesn’t Exetel Donate To Human Benefiting Charities?
      1. Exetel’s directors have stated that they believe that technology benefits humanity but it disadvantages every other species.
      2. As a technology provider to Australia’s human inhabitants it believes it has an obligation to Australia’s non-human inhabitants.
    9. How Does Exetel Choose The Charities It Donates To?
      1. By reading the publications and web sites of the registered charities in Australia that protect fauna and flora
    10. What benefit Does Exetel Get From Donating To Fauna Protection Projects?
      1. A sense of obligation partially discharged to the limit of Exetel’s financial capabilities.

  2. What Are The Financial Implications Of Any Donations?
    1. Does Exetel Get Tax Benefits From These Schemes?
      1. Currently Exetel has taken no advice on what its donations may mean in terms of tax ‘advantages’.
      2. We have a basic understanding that the ATO will, in the appropriate circumstances rebate/credit company tax (at a rate of 30%) on the total of donations made if they are to ATO accredited organisations and this would occur in the submission of Exetel’s tax returns after the end of each fiscal year (30th June ).
    2. Does The Customer Get Tax Benefits From These Schemes?
      1. Exetel will provide each customer who donates with a ‘certificate’ of the amount donated together with the registration numbers of the charities to which any customer agreed deductions were sent to.
      2. We will take advice from our accountants to ensure any documentation we provide complies with the ATO’s regulations.
