Using Pre-Selection To Obtain Low Cost Call Charges
There is a simple method for obtaining lower long distance and calls to mobile telephones call charges with your Exetel ADSL1 or ADSL2 service while leaving the rental of your telephone line and you local call charges with your current supplier.
This is done by using the 'oldest' of the phone call services that were introduced in to Australia in the early 1990's – Pre-Selection.
Pre-selection means that you go to the Exetel user facilities and complete a pre-selection form that authorises Exetel to apply to Telstra to bill Exetel for your STD, IDD and calls to mobiles who in turn will bill you.
No 'physical' change is involved to either your telephone line or your telephone number – only the billing record for your number(s) is changed in the Telstra database.
